Fascist Footsoldiers Trained for Years

An article that wandered across my radar today

The Tea Party was step one. I was laying the groundwork for those elections in 2006. These people didn’t come out of the blue like it seemed. This plan, this Christofascist takeover of the US government, has been in the works for decades. When evangelical conservatism started becoming popular and more mainstream around the 1970s, the foundation was being laid for the tragedy playing out right now.

I had the luck (?) to grow up in the South and to know these people for what they were.  But many people said, understandably, Oh they seem so fundamentally nice.  They can be reasoned with.

They are not nice.  They cannot be reasoned with.  They mean to have a war, and the enemy is you, and me, and anyone else who thinks that the Enlightenment was a good idea.

The guns they drool over are not a fetish.  OK, not just a fetish.  They are the weapons with which they plan to battle us all back to the 11th century.
