Once again - it's not parody if it's just true.

The problem with this is that our failure - really, our refusal - to understand science allows the oligarchs to configure policy any way that suits next quarter's profits.   And since this suits both the billionaires and Putin, keeping the populace idiotic is a major policy goal of the Pumpkin administration's  "Education" department.
