Happy Labor Day

Bernie Sanders joined a picket line in Iowa the other day.  Robert Reich said that the last presidential candidate he could remember seeing on a picket line was RFK.

"Card-carrying member of the ACLU" is a curse Republicans like to throw at Democrats.  The Republicans hurling that like it's filthy are each vying for an office for which they will swear to uphold the Constitution.  Hmm, the same goal the ACLU has.  Are we to infer that when they swear those oaths, they do not mean it?   As for why they think "card-carrying *" is a potent thing to say, it harks straight back to McCarthyism and the Red Scare.  Well, to hell with all that.  An ACLU membership card sits front and center in my wallet.
