F**K the Flag Tweet
Please go read this excellent article from today's Atlantic.
The media are being played like a fiddle. Every time he tweets something outrageous - or just plain stupid - it's to distract journalists (and I use that term loosely) from something really devastating. Yesterday it was nominating a major enemy of the Affordable Care Act to head up HHS.
People who should know better keep falling for it. So, journalists: F**k the flag tweet! It deserves no ink, so give it none! It's nothing but a deliberate and calculated distraction.
What you must cover is, the imminent shredding of society's ways to keep its obligations to anyone who's not insanely privileged. Anyone not already rich. Anyone not perfectly healthy. Anyone who's a target of any of the dozens of delightful bigotries that Americans cultivate like so many heirloom tomatoes.
