I have been waiting to comment on this again until after the last trial host has run their run, but Variety just broke this news: Mike Richards is in "advanced negotiations" to be the next permanent host of Jeopardy!

I have been maintaining my rankings since the last time I commented on this weighty matter, and if an announcement is made soon I will publish my final ranking. As I write this, there's still one last candidate I have not seen yet, Joe Buck.

What I can tell you is, since that initial ranking, Buzzy Cohen managed to squeak past Ken Jennings to take over the #3 spot. But nobody has even come close to Richards.

I'm just glad he wants this job. I guess it's not a demotion.
