We Saw Solo - Spoilers

We saw Solo yesterday.  It was quite enjoyable.  It's certainly not the best Star Wars movie ever, but that's quickly becoming a tougher and more debatable distinction.  Also, it's a distinction that truly lacks a defensible "so what?"  spoilers after the jump

Solo is the origin story of more than just Han Solo.  The seeds of the Rebellion are also seen as a grass-roots movement protesting inequality and oppression that the Empire is dishing out much more visibly than in any other movie so far, though some of the glitz of the 0.1% was visible in Last Jedi.

It only raises the film in my estimation that this movie pisses off a certain demographic of hyper-privileged young white men in this Empire country.  They bemoan the "SJW" attitudes of one character in particular.  Not to mention the fact that said character is... a droid.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is L3-37 in Solo: A Star Wars Story

As for the man-babies whining about how a woke character like L3 has no place in the Star Wars universe, please pay careful attention to the fact that she is made a permanent part of the Millenium Falcon.  Which means, she has been in every single movie in the series except for the execrable "prequels", and Rogue One.

Finally, it's most certainly not accidental that her name in English is "Elite" if translated from Leet.
