The President is Tired of this Shit

Take a look at this piece in GOOD Magazine for the numbers that Pres. Obama mentioned about terrorist attack deaths vs. gun violence deaths.  The ratio is 1000:1 -- and not in favor of the terrorists.

The President might be serious this time.  He seems to be in a wonderful lame duck space where he doesn't care about trying to compromise or "work with" a Congress that really has one policy principle: "Whatever that black M-F in the White House wants, we hates it.  We hates it forever!"

So when he once again got up to respond to another mass shooting, he finally seemed to be tired of it and ready to do something real.

“There are scores of responsible gun owners in this country,” he says, and they understand we need to change our gun laws. “There is a gun for roughly every man, woman, and child in America. So how can you with a straight face make the argument that more guns will make us safer?”

Obama: “This is something we should politicize.”

We have a Congress that explicitly blocks us from even collecting data on how we could potentially reduce gun violence. How can that be? This is a political choice that we make. To allow this to happen every few months in America. We collectively are answerable to those families who love their loved ones because of our inaction.

It is time for the citizens for sanity in this country, beginning with the #1 citizen, President Obama, to start calling out every member of Congress that takes a dime from the gun industry lobby (which is indistinguishable from the NRA Death Eaters).
