The Cycle of Furniture

When a new item of furniture comes in the door, usually the old goes to the curb.  We use furniture just about all the way up before replacing it.  But that doesn't mean a student or a poor starving artist can't get another year out of it.  Furniture - especially larger pieces - doesn't stay long before it's taken.

Once I furnished my places to live by checking the curbs.  And one day, the two guys who took our old couch will put their used-up-for-them pieces at the curb for the next wave.
