Episodes 1-6

Getting ready to see Star Wars Episode 7, The Force Awakens this weekend, we've been watching the first six movies in the series, and finished up late yesterday with The Return of the Jedi.

Anyway.

Jar-Jar Binks is exactly as annoying as we remembered.  And no, he is not a Sith Lord... terribly sorry!  Ewoks are cute, and not as annoying as some like to make out.  Especially not after you have recently seen Jar-Jar.

The "special editions" of episodes IV - VI really, really suck.  Those, maybe even more than Episodes I - III, are reason to be really glad Lucas is no longer involved in any meaningful way.  I have learned of something they call the "despecialized edition".  I won't link to it here but I bet you can find it too, if you want to.  I am eager to watch IV - VI again without the finger-painting.  Seeing Hayden Christensen in the last shot of VI was jarring.  Almost jar-jarring, I would say.
