Better Things - Better TV

Are we in a golden age of TV now? I keep seeing Important Essays that say we are.  I just think it's a bridge too far to decide that we're in a golden age of anything while we're in it.  We're going to need some perspective.  But I will definitely say that the quality and variety is on the upswing.

Better Things is a great example.  It's the latest from Pamela Adlon, longtime collaborator of Louis CK.  She takes the absurd/surreal yet all-too-real vibe of the later seasons of Louie and drives it to new heights.   You owe it to yourself to check it out.  It joins a really strong lineup on FX/FXX of non-stupid comedies like Man Seeking Woman and You're the Worst.  And even NBC (yes! NBC!) is chiming in on the non-stupid comedy front with Superstore and The Good Place.
