Bad Trump/Sanders Analogy

In the end, Bernie's campaign didn't have a lot to do with becoming president. Neither does Trump's.

Bernie definitely aroused a lot of the left.  Progressives.  Democratic Socialists.  Heck, just plain "Socialists."  Trump is arousing the right wing (alt- or not), the fascists, the racists.

Bernie was never going to become president this year.  Neither is Trump.  This year.  But Bernie's base will be a powerful progressive organizing resource for years to come.  I am afraid Trump's base will also become a powerful weapon aimed right at all that is decent and good about this country.

It would be more fun to watch what happens next if I didn't have to live it.
