Armed and Stapling

Another cop shot another unarmed person.   This may well have been a "suicide by cop" but the "weapon" that the newly-dead Dominic Fuller waved at the police was... a stapler.  It may well be arguable that the police officer's response was... reasonable, if things were moving fast, then: see anything with a metallic glint, empty your clip.

Of course, the insane lack of gun regulation in this country is why officers must operate on the assumption, if it's metallic or black it can kill you from 50 yards.

But the real capper came when Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd tuned up his empathy and PR skills and said,

We don’t choose to shoot people. People choose for us to shoot them.

Gotta love that attitude.
