Swiss Chocolate
Watching Chopped (S18E9), and the competition theme is, chocolate in every basket. And whaddaya know, one of the competing chefs is Swiss. He runs a business called "Sex on the Table" in which he teaches the aphrodisiac properties of different kinds of food. (Aphrodisiacs, of course, work on anyone who wants them to.)
He made a reference to the trope that everyone knows, of course, that the best lovers and cooks are all Swiss. Excuse me? I must have missed that day in National Stereotypes class.
And now that I think about it, I remember a humorous-intent poster I saw in an office in Basel:
- Hell is where:
- The chefs are English
- The police are German
- The lovers are Swiss
- The mechanics are French
- And it's all organized by the Italians
- Heaven is where:
- The chefs are French
- The police are English
- The lovers are Italian
- The mechanics are German
- And it's all organized by the Swiss
and the nationality-stereotyping kvetches begin in... 3... 2... 1...
