Spam Uptick
I have noticed a great uptick in political fundraising spam lately. Four to twelve times a day, Stacey Abrams, Mitch McConnell, and Josh Hawley are alternately furious and ecstatic in my inbox.
President Obama breaks his silence three or four times a week.
All for $2.70 or $5 from me.
As with all spam, clicking "unsubscribe" only redoubles in the inflow.
Is this really how to win an election cycle? Annoying the f* out of your base?
Not to mention, it's impossible to determine if these appeals are funding the actual candidates or some Moldovan gang of scammers.
My next technical project may be, a set of filters that would reject these emails but not legitimate news.
