In the so-called "attention economy", the providers have created their own tragedy of the commons.  They flood our streams with so many notifications, we terminate them all with extreme prejudice.

All in the hopes of making one more ad impression.  Ads are malware now.  And pharma ads are pure evil, into the mix.
