Lesser

With Bernie endorsing Hillary yesterday, a fresh spate of #BernieOrBust stupidity has broken out on social media.  This morning I was informed in no uncertain terms that supporting Hillary would lead to the election of Trump, but continuing  down the path of writing in Bernie was the only way to prevent that.

Didn't they used to teach something in high school called Civics?  And you couldn't pass it if you did not have a very basic understanding of how our elections work?  How did these people graduate?  (I suppose I should not assume that they did.)

Then there's the old "lesser of two evils" trope.  The one that means, "Because we wanted to choose Indian food over Papa John's Pizza for dinner, and because only Papa John's Pizza is now available... we should all drink battery acid!  That'll show 'em!"

This all makes me tired.

Not to mention: the "lesser of two evils" is still better than the greater.  And it can, in fact, be quite good.  But processing those concepts requires logic and thought, as opposed to yelling slogans and throwing tantrums.
