Jiggety-Jig
The Mother Goose rhyme probably means "Jiggety-jig" to refer to a horse-drawn cart, but it works for me as a reference to a passenger train.
We're on the way home from NYC via Amtrak. Really the only way to do this trip! No driving stress, but also no airport hassles. The stations are in the center of the city and the bags just board and leave the train with us. Walking around is easier, and roomier. Chance conversations with strangers can happen in either place but a train is ten times more relaxed than a plane, any day.
When you include door-to-door travel time -- especially given how "special" it can be to get to one of NYC's airports -- there isn't even that big a difference in time commitment.
And air travel is dangerous for me; one of these days I am going to make one crack too many about the Security Theater of the Absurd and find myself "rendered" someplace really unpleasant. No thanks.
