Huckabee Gets Marriage Wrong: Sesame Street to the Rescue!

In the past week, Mike Huckabee reflects conservatives' increasing desperation about marriage by letting drop one of the key things they have been trying oh-so-hard not to talk about.  Marriage is not about love!  Here he is on CNN:

"Heterosexual marriage is largely in trouble today because people see it as a selfish means of pleasing self, rather than a committed relationship in which the focus is on meeting the needs of the partner,” he said. “That sense of selfishness and the redefinition of love as to something that is purely sentimental and emotional, has been destructive.”

Hear that?  Think you married someone because you two love each other?  Love is clearly for sissies.  For Huckabee and his bros marriage is for men to control women.  (See the full story for more context.)
