You might wonder how a college-bound American senior can solve the problem of paying for a top-notch education, without facing decades of debt.
Answer: go to Germany. The linked story tells of students - good enough to get in, of course - who are paying $120 a semester for fees and a public transit pass, $87 a month for health insurance, and that is the total cost of their university education. Yes, there's rent, food, incidentals but those would be about the same anywhere. Most classes, and all technical classes, are taught in English.
Germany is only one of several countries where this is an option.
It's sad beyond words that the USA is not.
