Classics for Torture!
At the upcoming BSidesROC, some of the Capture the Flag challenges will be of my own devising, and I am a fan of classic encryption techniques, some of which date back to ancient times.
These encryption schemes are no longer useful for serious applications, as computer cryptanalysis will brute-force them in milliseconds. Still, for the occasional geocaching puzzle or other casual, fun pursuits they are great. (The contest is over, by the way.)
